People are unique individuals - each person has his or her own strengths and weaknesses, and his or her own unique ways of learning. Those unique learning styles dramatically impact the way I teach each of my students. Further, my students have different goals in choosing to pursue private music lessons. Whether it's simply for enjoyment or to become seasoned professionals, understanding what their goals are helps me to shape my expectations for each student.
The primary goal of my teaching is to make playing music engaging, fulfilling, and fun. I have been inspired by many teachers and have learned from them that teaching is not only about learning music. It is an opportunity to enhance and expand other life skills: good communication, patience, confidence, and joy.
